Seven o'clock in the morning.<br \/>\n<b><br \/>\n<\/b><b>\t\t\t\t\t\tDISSOLVE TO:<br \/>\n<\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><b>\tINTERIOR. CHARLIE'S BEDROOM<br \/>\n<\/b>\tThe bedroom of a two-and-a-half-room apartment in the housing<br \/>\nproject. It is early morning, but the shades are drawn and<br \/>\nthe room is dark. CAMERA moves slowly across the room, over<br \/>\nthe large double bed on which Charlie and Helen Samson, a<br \/>\nyoung couple in their late twenties, are sleeping. They are<br \/>\nsleeping more or less on their sides, facing away from each<br \/>\nother. One of Helen's pajama-clad legs projects from under<br \/>\nthe light covers.
